So I`m being transfered this tuesday! I´m really nervous. I´ve gotten use to being out in the country of Brazil with the other three missionaries but now I have to leave! I´m going to miss all the people here! Though the hills here, not so much. My area here is actually has the worse hills in all the mission. So my next area should be pretty relaxed. I don´t know where I´m going or who my next comp will be but I´ll find out tuesday! It´s been a blast here in Mauá, Sao Paulo. I have to repack everything and say goodbye to people. I´m really excited though. The experiences I´ve had here have been awesome. Hopefully my next area is just as cool if not better. Vamos Ver! Eu amo vocés!

Week 15
Hey Everyone!!!
I´m coming up on 4 months here in brazil! I´m still in the same area with my comp from peru. Brazil keeps on surprising me each week. The experiecnces are....interesting. Between singing and playing on a guitar with a drunk man to walking through the midst of a funk party on the road, things are crazy. We talk to so many people. We´ll just walk down a road and whoever we see, we just start talking. We´ve been teaching this man with a daughter who has downsyndrom and she is so cool! Honestly people who are mentally or physically handicapped are often the best kind of people.
I´ve found that here in brazil people really don´t know much about the douctrine or gospel of their church and those that do have some very interesting beliefs. And there are some interesting churches here too. I think my favorite is one called Spritualism. The people though are really good people. Asside from the criminals. They can be really friendly.
Anyways we´re working hard and I can´t wait for it to cool down a bit. Stay safe and I love you alllll!!!!!!!

Week 14 (no post for week 13)
Hey Everyone!
It´s been another great week here in Brazil! Everyone is getting ready for carnival this week so things are a bit crazy. For those of you who don´t know about carnival, google it. My area is going to get a bit crazy with it so we wont have a lot to do at night. I´m not really excited for it though just because of all that happens during the week. It´s really sad. But it´s a new experience.
We´ve taught a lot of people this week, some good and some bad. We have a term here in brazil called -snake. This is a term for people you teach (usually women) who pretend to be interested in the church but really are only interested in you. This usually only happens with Americans. And this past week my comp and I taught 2 girls. I don´t think we´ll be returning there again.......
One of the hardest things about the language here is pronouncing the words right. My american accent really hinders my abilitly to have conversations with people. I can communicate but sometimes people don´t quite understand me. Learning the language is a long process.
One thing to remember: It doesn´t hurt to help someone out each day. Everything we have in our lives is from The Lord and all he asks is that we serve eachother. It doesn´t have to be something big. Often small things here and there are better. Blessing other peoples lives really will make you happy.
Stay safe and I love you all!
Love
Elder Shannon
