I thinik it´s been a while since I sent a letter to you all. The weeks have been flying by. As most of you know by now, I´m in an area that is the beginning part of the country area of brazil. It´s pretty cool here. We got good weather here. It´ll usually be hot until about 3 or 4 then cools down and stays cold until the next morning. We also get lots of fog. These past few weeks have been difficult because the work has been very slow. We´ve been doing our best to work hard and in the last few days we´ve been able to get some success. I have a thought that was brought to my mind recently. We talk a lot about having faith in God and trusting in Him. However, one of my leaders here on the mission asked us more or less, Have you gained God´s trust? I never thought much about God trusting in us. I don´t think that ever registered in my mind. As missionaries it´s something vital. For example, we talke to lots of people everyday. This is one of the most improtant things we do. But if we´re slacking and not talking to the number of people that we should, then how can god trust us enought to put the people who are ready in our path. If God doesn´t trust us to talk to the person that He puts in our path then he won´t. And so a thought for all of you, are you doing your part each day so that Heavenly Father turst you? This applies in all situations. How can we gain the trust of Heavenly Father? I hear from many people that topics from the prophet and apotles is about hastening the work. That means people that we are getting closer and closer. The best thing we can do these days is to keep our covenants and talk to people about the church.
Anyways the work continues and I continue to be tired but what´s new? Haha. I love you all and hope the best for everyone.
Love Elder Shannon
